10th EMS Station launched

Aman launched its 10th Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Station in Karachi on Monday, 14 December 2010. Located on Khushal Khan Road in PECHS, the launch ensures almost 100 percent coverage of the city, combined with 100 ambulances and over 1000 paramedic staff.

With seven key points, the station will cover areas of PECHS, Garden, Bahadurabad, SMCHS, PIB Colony and Jauhar Town. Monitored via a Central Command & Control System and 100 key points, the Foundation hosts additional 9 stations in Malir, Bin Qasim, Gulshan, Gulberg, North Karachi, North Nazimabad, SITE, Clifton and Baldia town for citywide coverage.

The EMS programme comprises of a strategically positioned network of 100 state-of-the-art ambulances, with doctors and emergency medical technicians (EMT) on board to provide comprehensive, round-the-clock coverage to the city of Karachi. This programme aims to stabilise and transport patients from site of injury or illness to healthcare facilities while resolving issues of access (physical and financial) and quality vis-a-vis in-transit care.
